Athlone Toastmasters are looking forward to a bumper public speaking contest next Tuesday March 24 at 8pm in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.  Six contestants shall battle it out to be crowned Club Public Speaking Champion 2009 and to have the honour of representing the club at the area final on Sunday April 5.

A six-month training course for those who want to develop leadership skills in running youth groups is being provided by The Family Centre, Chapel Street, Castlebar, commencing in September.

Mullingar Toastmasters Club recently hosted its International Speech and Evaluation Contest in the Greville Arms Hotel. This event happens once a year and it involves a lot of preparation and dedication in terms of planning and organisation, not to mention the amount of practice on the part of speech contestants.
